Stargate Friday

Wow where to start. SG-1's 200th episode was right up the alley with what I was expecting of it. It was witty, funny, bizarre and just downright silly and I've come to expect nothing less from TPTB. Loved all the inside jokes and spoofs and one of the things I love about Stargate is that they aren't afraid to make fun of themselves about things they've done in the past. I love it, instead of covering it up with some lame excuse or just ignoring it; they bring it back up and make fun of it. It's great!

The thoughts below are kind of scattered but at least I didn't type it in one long run on sentence, instead it's in several run on sentences :P

bahaha the Furlings! They looked like a cross between mutant ewoks and creepy carebears. The beam out was great and that was sooo a Death Star explosion of the planet. hee

bahaha "It's a movie, not a clip show!" - Marty

Lol at the bit about the opening sequence (especially given how the fans reacted to when they took the normal opener away and replaced it with that short version last year) and it was perfect cutting to a short sequence.

Mitchell and his zombies, and they were taking a bite out of Walter! The Pierre Bernard zombie was amusing. Zombies...really Cam :P

The bit about bring in another actor to replace one who has left was too funny. It seemed appropriate for both Daniel and O'Neill hehe

Invisible!O'Neill was sooo amusing, I really would have loved to see an invisible!O'Neill episode like that, it would be so funny. Especially his loud snoring during Daniel's briefing "Someone just poke around, see if you can find him" and Carter's shower scene "Sir, are you there?" *pause* "Nope" bahaha that was great. Teal'c talking to a walking coffee cup really amused me and on the ship "Hello hand signals! I'm waving you over!" bahahaha and they can't see him, classic O'Neill heee

Vala's Wizard of Oz was pretty funny and I loved Daniel's facial expression during it.

Poor Siler, he does always get it doesn't he "Why does this always happen to me?" baha and the zoooom of doooom before Cheyenne Mt explodes lol

The Trek spoof, too funny! "Weapons are at maximum" (set to kill set to kill baha). The accents were funny, Mitchell as Kirk was amusing "Can you reverse the...polarity?" And Brad Wright's cameo as Scotty was just too funny "I'm giving it all I've got Captain!" bahaha

The younger edgier versions of the team "I was still gonna tap that" and "yo wonderbread" bahaha "I don't think Mitchell likes me anymore" "I'm pregnant" haha that was good. Though wasn't it supposed to be like the movie people (Col Danning etc...) and not the actual SG-1?

bahaha and this time it was FarGate literally! Was Thor supposed to be Rigel?

Ok the puppets, I thought this sequence was a bit long and a bit creepy (when aren't puppets creepy?) but still amusing especially when introducing everyone. "A beautiful, battle ready, scientific genius...Captain - Doctor" lol The best part was when they went through the gate and the strings were cut and the all fell into a heap and Teal'c was there laughing.

"There will be spoilers" "It'll be in the commercial" haha and there always are and it always is. It makes me think of Ex Dues Machina, when the big revelation came that the bomb was the building but in the teaser commercials, they showed building exploding. lol

ROFL at O'Neill's "jaunt through the ole' orifice" bahaha "We call it that sometimes don't we?"

The fishing ending, yes! Really though despite how much I have been enjoying season 9 and 10, if the show would have ended after Moebius pt 2, I would have been happy.

Beaming into the wedding, nice touch indeed. And yes ok fine [livejournal.com profile] jackwhore, I seen the slashly bit, I really must have missed it the first time, but it was still more shippery then slashly. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! :P

The 10 years later bit was kind of amusing, especially the jab at savedrlavent.com haha. I really didn't get why all the cursing though.

The 200th special before the ep was good too, it was pretty amusing. I liked how they had the gate as a big projector with stuff showing on it. How about having that in your living room huh? Oh yea, it would be totally awesome. And the cake was cool, the 00's of the 200 were stargates hehe

This Atlantis episode was very good and very well done. Atlantis is just continuing to amaze me each week and I'm really feeling the Atlantis this season. I'm really liking these character driven episodes, Sateda was awesome and now this one was great too. I really like the Dr. Weir character and I thought T.H. did a spectacular job in this episode. I'm also looking forward to the McKay episode and the Sheppard episode. I'm just itching to know more about both these characters.

While I knew a little about what was going on (the replicators and all) it still kept me on edge waiting to find out what was going to happen next. I really liked the whole atmosphere of it, it was somewhat creepy almost, especially with some of the ways that the camera moved around. I liked how it was shot (again I think of Sateda) it seemed to really bring it to you what was happening on screen. Whoever directed this did a great job.

I liked how at the ending when she was pulling through it with support form Sheppard and seeing her trust in him. It spoke volumes not only about Weir but about Sheppard. ah these great little character defining moments.

Oh and I did catch the new preview for BSG and it looked awesome. I'm really starting to look forward to it's return.
