They had thrown around a couple ways of ending it (all of which is preferable to me over how they actually did end it) but yeah I know :P And yes, movie length specials have been a plan since like season 5 so I'm sure they had that in mind.
Nah, you won't have any problem. There are a few references to going-ons in Atlantis in SG-1 but nothing that you have to have been watching to really get or anything. There are several things from Atlantis though that it helps to have watched SG-1, which you have so you're good. As long as you've seen up to the Lost City finale, you'll be fine. Atlantis isn't mentioned in SG-1 as much as SG-1 is in Atlantis.
