Y'know, while I did plow through most of the Anne Rice's books, I didn't think any matched Interview. It was definitely the best imho. My point though - I could see why some may not want to be bothered finishing one of the sequels.

I think it depends on how into something I am - on whether or not I laugh and scoff at teh stupid. I can chortle with the best of them but when it's something I actually care about - well - then it just infuriates me. The fact I actually liked BtVS and Angel just made the sucky vamp illogic beyond maddening. But like, say, any Spiderman villain just makes me roftl.

I too, loved Interview With the Vampire. I was all prepared to loathe it b/c I can't stand Tom Cruise - but it actually really rocked. The first Blade = Stephen Dorff goodness :D I actually didn't like Bram Stoker's Dracula, I must admit. It just didn't work for me - I'm not sure why (it's been forever since I saw it) Yes, sure, the original Buffy counts. We loved that - it was hysterical. Kindred: The Embraced was another vampire show I just loved too. It was canceled after one of the leads died :( I like vampires when written correctly - they can be so beautifully tragic.
