XF2 trailer

Snagged shamelessly from [livejournal.com profile] starbuck92 for anyone who might not have seen this already, here are links to the official XF2 trailer and an interview (from a few weeks ago) with Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz.

Interview

I guess CC did want to use I Want to Believe from the get go as the title which seems pretty unoriginal to me but it's his movie :P

[identity profile] faithnsin.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Pfft. That thing about the title....is the direct opposite.... of what CC said before. Now I don't know what to believe ;.; but - I guess in the grand scheme of things, the title doesn't really matter, as long as the movie rocks.

Is it me - or does DD look olllld or tired or something. Like, not a million or anything, but his eyes have sunk into his head or something. idk. I preferred his old hair *cuts it for him*

*squee* Thanks for that - I hadn't seen them :)

[identity profile] atlantisflygirl.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
*flails* why can't it be July already?

[identity profile] jackwhore.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to admit, I laughed. Cause the bit where it goes dark with the x-files theme and then you hear 'Scully...', I could just imagine a theatre of girls screaming on cue. HAH.

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
hmm yeah. And you're right, as long as the movie is awesome, it's all good.

I think he looks older, well both of the actually but I tell myself that is because they are much older than they used to be. Though I suppose they could also be done up a little more make-up wise to make it look like they've been on the run for so long and stuff. idk. I don't mind the hair so much as long as it's not like pushed back over his head, but I do prefer it to be shorter.

YW, glad to spread the XF joy :D

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
No kidding. *wonders why waiting for things seems to take so long* :P

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
LOL. And I just know you're going to be one of the first in line at the theatre for it ;) hahaha @ a theatre full of screams and squees :P

[identity profile] atlantisflygirl.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe I know, it's been too long in the making and we're forced to wait longer. I'm due around the 19th so no doubt I'll have the baby with me by then but I know I am definitely off loading her to her grandparents so I can have me some x files goodness :D

[identity profile] jackwhore.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Pfft. Never gonna happen. Didn't even see Fight The Future at the movies ;)

Yeh. This is of course an American theatre I'm imagining. I've never heard anything other than polite applause and laughter at cinemas here.

I shall have to avoid my Duchovny Fangirl Friends when the movie comes out or I'll be dragged to see it...only to get pelted with food everytime I remark how big his nose is.

[identity profile] faithnsin.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
True, it has been ten years or w/e - but Gillian's faired far better than David imo. A shorter hair style on him may have made it not quite so obvious imho. Longer hair drags the face down, usually - so the hair style does him zero favors ;.;

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
heehe indeed. Gotta have that xf goodness :D

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. I saw it 5 times at the theatre :P

I actually like an enthusiastic theatre crowd (mind you not kids yelling and screaming and such) one that's obviously excited for the movie but not so out of control you can't watch it.

shhh :P *giggles at the thought of you in the middle of a group of fangirls* lollz

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. It kind of cracks me up looking at old episodes where they were sooooo young looking compared to now. Where'd the time go! sheesh :P

[identity profile] jackwhore.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the first time I saw it was at a friend's house. And not by choice. :P Had some friends who lined up at midnight to watch it though.....nutbags

Audiences here probably tend to be a tad more sedate. I suppose for cult classic movies there are the usual opening-day freaks but that doesn't last long =d

Dude you have no idea. Virtually every single one of my female high school friends was into The X-Files. I sat in a corner by myself waving a tiny little SG-1 flag and informing them all that they didn't know what they were on about, they just wanted to marry Agent Mulder and have his babies. Chicks.

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
heehehe midnight premieres are so much fun *lines up* ;)

And you know I might have even considered dressing up for the new movie if I still had any of my old Scully-type clothes but I don't ;P I dressed up for the midnight showing of ROTS and will also most likely be dressed up for ST XI ehehe :D

bahahahaha that amuses me so much, especially the visual of 'waving a little sg-1 flag' See, that's why one must find proper balance between all things favorite. Though I'll admit, it didn't take long for SG-1 to become my favorite over XF, which at the time I thought something like that would never happen :P

[identity profile] faithnsin.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
I also would like to know where the time went! :O
It really does go waaaaaay too fast. *sighs*

That's not the usual flamingo icon, is it? O.o

[identity profile] jackwhore.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
What are Scully-type clothes? Pantsuits? Hehehe. Or did you have the full red wig and fake fbi badge thing going :P

It's probably just my personality but I never got into XF that much because I could never get over the seriousness of it. Monster-of-the-week episodes aside, there was something about Mulder's earnestness that made me go HAH. Small wonder then that I preferred Jack over Daniel in SG-1 =d

Also, it was clear to me that the Mulder/Scully thing would eventually happen. There was no way I was gonna watch that :P

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, I made this new one in my last XF batch and decided to change it out :P

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Pant suits indeed, complete with shoulder pads! And I had a brown trench coat. Geez they were so ugly lol. But it was the 90's after all ;P No fake hair though I do have replica FBI badges for Scully, Mulder, Skinner and some generic ones.

lol. I liked that he was so driven, not to be easily convinced by nearly everyone around him telling him he was wrong and crazy :P

aww come now, just like with Sam & Jack (and dammit that better be resolved) I know you're a closet shipper. Just let it free, be free like the wind... ;)

[identity profile] atlantisflygirl.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
to quote you: indeed :P

[identity profile] faithnsin.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thought so! Go me - I was observant *cheers self* ;p

[identity profile] stargater.livejournal.com 2008-05-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
*cheers for you also* ;D

OMG, LEOBEN'S ONE OF THE FINAL FIVE!!!! xP

All I can say is, I like the poster art behind them during the interview. The name's still lame, but whatever. :P

thanks for posting :)
