Writer's Block: Lucas for a day

[Error: unknown template qotd]

I'd re-write them exactly as they had been originally, release that version on beautiful blu-ray and NOT alter or modify them again.

That grinning bastard. :P Totally works LOL. He really must be worried people won't buy his "improved" versions because I see no other reason the originals won't get released. We still haven't gotten a proper dvd release. Why he can't just force us to pay more money to get a set with the unaltered alone with the "improved" idk. He did that with the dvd release; single & box set, but it was still a fuck you to the fans being the laser disc prints making them official bootlegs rather than proper releases since I have dvd bootlegs of the special editions which were made the same way.

I'm just glad I have Dave Filoni to make me happy...what am I going to do when Clone Wars ends? x( Maybe if the live-action ever gets off the ground; I honestly wish it would, it'll get a good show runner as well.

He totally is too!! Lol. If he released an unaltered version on DVD/BR it'd make a killing in $$$ because that's what fans have wanted all along!

How much longer is it slated for? I'm hoping season 1 will be cheaper soon then I'll snag it up. I still enjoy the idea of a live action show, if it's done right.

The plan was to do at least 100 episodes so at least five seasons; each season so far has been 22 episodes, and The fourth season just started. Indeed. Supposedly Seth Green is in works to do his own SW animated series though I'm not expecting it to be canonical; who knows. I like the idea of them continuing Post-RotJ in animated form; it can get past the hurtle of using/not using the original cast. I really think it could work.

Ahh gotcha. Well, if it's still going strong I don't see why they would cancel it at 100, they'll probably keep it going until it's not doing as well and/or they have something better to replace it with. I've always enjoyed the idea of an animated post-RotJ show though I'm at odds about the original characters being used. Not just the original cast, I think I could be okay with that, but if characterization was off or went a direction I don't agree with, I'd be done with it.

Well they've kinda already planned it out with the first two seasons following AotC i.e. the original series costume/appearance designs for Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka, then the third season was a transition season with Anakin & Obi-Wan looking the way they did in RotS & Ahsoka growing older also with a new outfit which all occurred about half way through the series. Plus a lot of the season involved episodes taking place during the first two seasons. Now in this season the Clones are now wearing the RotS armor. I knew this would happen, but I didn't like Ahsoka looking more like Shaak Ti though it's grown on me a little, and I've always preferred the AotC Clone Armor over the RotS type, so I'm going to be hating that some. :/ It'll feel lopsided if they did go beyond five seasons, but I'm certainly not completely against them going beyond it. :P Yeah, but you have to deal with that when reading the books too don't ya? When it's come to CW, it's sounded like George is somewhat respectful of the EU, but of course I'll always take his word with a grain of salt & Filoni could be convincing him too. Still, if they did it, I'd like them to at least used the books & stuff as a guide. Like with regular films based on comics & books, I'd be fine with some tweaking, but I wouldn't like it go too over board. They probably would just do their own thing, but I do like when at least CW keeps it in mind.

Ahh, I see. For me at least, I'd rather a show end on time and end well rather than be drug out or something. Too many shows get ruined that way :/

Well, yes, that's true about dealing with characters being off in books but it's different. With the books they're all written by different authors, so one book may be out of characterization and the next be spot on again. You can really flip flop too much like that with actors and performances. And of course, a character being out of character a lot of times is a matter of the reader/watcher's perception. It's just different for a book than something on screen. I don't know if that explains it well :p

Mhmm.

I agree replacement actors can't always replicate the originals. When it's come to voice actors though I've been surprised how much they can mimic them, or at least enough, and sometimes how little the difference of them matters to me. It really is a case by case thing though which is both a good & bad thing. :/

True, that.
