DW: The Doctor's Daughter

I liked it better than I thought I would though I can't say I really have that much an opinion on it. I neither really like nor dislike it and I thought it felt a little rushed and squashed. And I did like Jenny (despite the superwoman acrobatics) and I wouldn't mind seeing her again at some point in the future. I liked that it was clear how she came to be though my first thought when they grabbed the Doctor and stuck his hand in the machine was why they didn't immediately do the same to Donna and Martha, especially if they needed new soldiers so bad. And this seven day war that's lasted generations, if it's only been seven days and they are going through so many soldiers, why was the leader (Cobb I think was his name) so old? Maybe he was one of the colonists before the war though I wouldn't think just seven days would make him go all victory crazy like he was.

Also, Jenny's regeneration/rebirth thingy, I'm not sure what to make of it either. I'm leaning more towards the terra forming process bringing her back to life instead of her regenerating like a Time Lord. It did sort of look like a regeneration but the terra forming stuff also looked the same. And she didn't change, she just got right up and off she went. So does that make her part Time Lord maybe? Or does she just physically resemble the Doctor (two hearts and all that) but without what might connect her as a Time Lord?

The Hath, I liked them! They were cute all bubbling at each other and stuff. I kept wanting to call one of them Admiral Ackbar and say 'there once was a Hath on Hoth...' :P I especially liked the one that Martha became friends with and I really wished he hadn't died. Maybe he didn't, they don't breath air anyway so maybe he just mucked around on the bottom and crawled out later. I really felt bad for Martha in this episode, probably more so than ever before. Out of the companions, she's kind of gotten short end of the stick I think. After everything that happened and the year that wasn't here she was once again alone (not technically because of not!dead Hath friend) left to cross the wasteland surface of the planet to get back to the Doctor and Donna.

I like clever!Donna and how she figured out the dates. I also had to chuckle when she mentioned how the dates "were backwards like in America" lol backwards ;P I also liked how Donna kept reminding the Doctor about Jenny and I really liked his talk in the cell about the Time Lords. David Tennant is just brilliant, he really is. Then of course comes the part at the end where Donna says she's going to travel with the Doctor forever and my first thought was 'NO! Great, now she's gonna die' :/ I don't want Donna to die! I've read some spoilers for the finale regarding this but I'm not treating any of it as more than just speculation.

Reoccurring things: I didn't spot any of the usual... no Rose, no ATMOS, no talk of lost planets though there was more talk of the Time War. I do remember a part with Jenny saying something about the Doctor not having a name, I can't remember the exact quote but that could be considered a name reference. And one thing that I didn't think about until this episode was the Doctor and guns. We all know the Doctor hates guns and it seems that he's mentioned or had something to do with one in nearly every episode since The Fires of Pompeii. Possibly another reoccurring theme? Damn them for all this, it really makes me over think it all.

Random things: Loved the mouse. And the bit about all the running. Phone upgrade - universal roaming! Donna and her wiles lol.

Next week: The Unicorn and the Wasp and Agatha Christie! Oh, how I do love a good mystery story. :D

LOL. I just looked back up at my post and had to chuckle after my comment of 'not having much opinion on it', apparently I did :P
