stargater | I feel a disturbance in the force... (Reply)

Since I've been on a "no spoiler" kick this year and have been following through on it quite well, I really know little about upcoming episodes and such. Though there have been some news as of yesterday (all courtesy of GateWorld) that I don't quite know what to think just yet.

I guess I'll start with the finale for SG-1, called Unending (which is a clever title I think) and apparently SG-1 gets trapped on a ship stuck in a time dilation field and they end up living like that for 50 years. The idea behind it gives us a view of how they all decide to live their lives and such. A pretty neat idea actually though I'd rather O'Neill be there but I won't hop on that soapbox just yet :P Of course they get out and everything is just sorta undone but is supposed to bring about a sense of closure (yet not total closure because of the movies) and we get a more in depth look at parts of the characters that we never would get to see.

The first movie titled Stargate: The Ark of Truth kind of wraps up the Ori storyline. The Ori plan to launch their final attack on Earth and SG-1 goes in search of The Ark of Truth to stop them, the IOA gets involved and screws things up and SG-1 ends up in a distant galaxy battling two powerful foes. ermm k

The second titled Stargate: Continuum seems like it will be an alternate reality/time travel sort of thing possibly. Baal is going to be executed but Teal'c & Vala suddenly disappear, the SGC and the Stargate Program are completely gone and Baal arrives with a troop of Jaffa to take over Earth with Teal'c as his first prime and Vala (as Katesh) as his queen. So SG-1 has to put everything back right again.

According to GateWorld RDA has been approached about appearing in the films, especially the second one but they don't know the official word yet. I really want O'Neill back for the movies even if it's not that big of a role, I want him in it! lol Still I'm looking forward to the movies, I always thought that continuing SG-1 as a series of movies would be a good idea.

In Atlantis news, it was reported that Torri Higginson will not be returning as a main character but a recurring character. They didn't say why but it's kinda odd after hearing that Paul McGillion won't be returning at all for season 4. What the heck!? Though being a recurring character still can have a good amount of screen time (like Dr. Fraiser) but I still wonder why all this is happening. I think it sorta sucks though because Dr. Weir is one of my favorite characters on SGA. pfft

Also apparently David Hewlitt will have his own half hour comedy series called Starcrossed that will air on the Sci-Fi channel. I'm looking forward to this because if it's done by DH it's bound to be full of snarky and cynical witticisms hehe

I still don't know what to think about some of it but I guess we can only wait and see how it all plays out. Besides if stuff happens that I don't like, I'll just do what I always do in such cases, pretend it didn't ;P
