In reference to the character death, you are correct.
Oh yes Wedge is in most (if not all) of the X-Wing books and he's in the Thrawn trilogy and the NJO. Probably a couple others that I just can't remember right now.. He isn't always the center of focus like Luke or the others but he is still pretty significant in some things that happen. Wedge is cool :D
