As it would seem to be a re-occurring thing this season, I enjoyed it more than I thought, and I now love the Ood even more as well. I thought them holding a tiny brain was really cool for some reason, and I found the idea of it being replaced with the translator orbs just horrific & depressing. Indeed the Ood song was wonderful, and I liked the reminder of the Doctor being more in tuned to things than most others are.
You were unaware of Theta Sigma huh? :) Yeah, it was his nickname at the academy: Prydonian Academy.
I've once again gone against my plan of watching all the stories in order, by sending for The Time Warrior ; a Third Doctor story which is the first appearance of the Sontarans & Sarah Jane Smith. :) I may also get the Sontarans second story, The Sontaran Experiment, which is a Fourth Doctor story, so that would be my introduction to Tom Baker if I do get it. Anyways, I went back & forth on whether I want New Who to be my intro, but Classic Who prevailed in my head. Technically I've already experienced the Sontarans, but that was this skit that was done for some kid, fulfilling his wish, in the 80's with the Sixth Doctor. I also of course won't see all the Sontarans stories before seeing this weeks episode; there will be two others, The Invasion of Time & The Two Doctors. Invasion doesn't come out on dvd til this saturday though; UK-only, separate & part of a Sontaran boxset, in conjunction with the Sontaran New Who premiere. but yes...
