Well [livejournal.com profile] rithmah and I finally got back from Tulsa a few hours ago. The convention was loads of fun and I’m glad we stayed two days, definitely too much to see and do trying to cram it all into one day like last year. I would really like to do all 3 days next year, hopefully it will be better, more $$$ saved up then :D To save from seeing a super long winded post, the rest of the convention goodies are located under

We attended Saturday and Sunday and stayed at the official convention hotel, the Doubletree. It was a nice hotel and the rooms were real nice, but the parking was horrible! You had to park in this parking garage that had this weird up/down thing to get out, and then going into the hotel you had to walk all the way to the other end of the hotel to get to the elevators to go upstairs. lol I think most the guest stars stayed there as well, there were always limos parked outside. hehe

Saturday was mostly spent looking at all the exhibitors and all their goodies and nifty thingos. I have to say there was a good assortment of all fandoms there this year and lots of really cool stuff. I brought back several new toys and fun thingys like some Star Wars toys that are hard to find for my collection, some cards and comics and a few other miscellaneous goodies.

Got our photo op with Teryl Rothery on Saturday morning and also go her autograph later on Sunday. Did the photo op with Michael Shanks on Sunday morning and I must say he is even better looking in real life then on TV ;) tee hee.

While waiting in line for Michael, I was taking a picture and this old man in a poorly put together replica of a desert camo sg-1 costume pulled me out of the way. I think he thought I was trying to cut in line or something, even though we were standing right behind them in line the entire time. I held my tongue tho for the sake of having to wait in line behind him, but it really annoyed me. Funny thing tho, his wife actually seemed nice. bah some people pffft

Teryl Rothery went back on stage on Sunday, even tho she was already on stage for Friday only. She was so funny and lively, bouncing and hopping every where and she seemed to really be having fun. She came off the stage and walked through the crowd and up to the bleachers on both sides so that everyone could see and ask questions. She told some funny stories, including the 'puff and ruffle' one. She also told about when she played Heimdall in Revelations, she had to wear one of those suits with the light sensors on them and that the eyes were conveniently placed on her chest and everyone would purposefully look there and crack jokes. hehe so funny.

Michael Shanks was really funny on stage too, he told some great stories about the flatulence problems on the set and the time when they were filming 1969 when he scared Christopher Judge into thinking there was a bear (because CJ is terrified of woodland creatures) in this ditch area and he took off running away. ehe I met this nice girl that was in the seat next to me and she wanted to go ask a question (about what it was like to return from being ascended naked! bahahaha) and wanted me to go up there with her because she was nervous. So while waiting in the line to ask a question, I tried to think of a good question but none were coming to mind. Then he made a face while talking and it came to me...I asked him about his constipation face during Absolute Power. He really didn't answer (I don’t think he had an answer eehe) but everyone else sure got a good laugh out of it. He did say that most the time people say "he’s full of shit" lol! Teryl Rothery, Lexa Doig and Ronny Cox (Kinsey) also came onto the stage and they all were joining in with the crowds questions and laughs. Later he was telling about when he had is appendices taken out and the scene with O'Neill in the infirmary (Nemesis), I yelled "Can we see your scar!", he had this funny look on his face and he said "Come see me later!" bahahaha so funny.

Ronny Cox was nice too, as I was telling him what a good bad Senator/Vice Pres Kinsey he was, he said well if you though Kinsey was bad last season, just wait for the new episodes, you haven’t seen anything yet! ehehe now I’m just waiting to find out what kind of chaos Kinsey will cause this time ehe. This was Ronny Cox's first U.S. Convention appearance and he also sings and plays guitar. He did a show Saturday night, but we didn’t attend it. Speaking of singing, Vaughn Armstrong was pretty amusing and sang a tune while playing the harmonica and a ukulele. heh

Seen and talked to several others like Ray Park (Darth Maul from TPM) he was pretty nice and Daniel Logan (young Boba Fett from AOTC) but we missed John Billingsly (Coombs from The Other Guys) the entire time, seen him on stage for a bit, but never could catch him for a picture. hehe I just wanted to hear him say "I have a vespa and two cats!!" hehehe

oh and the guy from Light speed Fine art asked Jenn if she knew who he was, and we were like "um no" and he said he was the Jawa that sold C3PO and R2D2 to the Lars in ANH, way back when he was only 15. lol who knows :P The Tulsa Fan Force also had a booth there and everyone was dressed up in nifty Star Wars costumes and they had an R2D2 unit that they drove around, it was rather nifty.

bleeeppppp dooobleeepo beeepdobeepdo

I'm sure I’m forgetting lots of stuff and will probably post later when I remember lol. It was a lot of fun, lots of neat stuff and nice people, definitely a good weekend well spent. Indeed.

Pictures will be posted tomorrow hopefully. whoo hoo! :D
