Wow. This was a great episode, just really good in all ways. I liked just about everything about everything that happened. I don't even know if that made much sense, but what I mean to say is that I liked it a lot and it's probably my favorite this season so far.
This episode exemplifies what BSG is to me, a wonderfully intertwined story with complex characters and a torrid of emotions bubbling just below the surface. I loved the further character development of Roslin as well as Starbuck's destiny.
First off, Roslin... I very much liked her this week (despite not being prepared for the bald part at the beginning - I went "woah" and nearly dropped my popsicle) and will say that my likeness for her character has definitely increased. I like Roslin, I have since the beginning but she's always seemed I dunno how to put it, a little detached (except with Bill) and I really liked seeing her trust and open up to another person. I also really felt bad for her when Emily died and I think the whole thing was a huge foreshadow to her own death. I really liked her shared dream and knowing her mom and loved ones were alright, it seemed to bring about a sense of peace for her which is something she deserves. And I loved the end part with her and Bill, it was touching and I like that they have that sort of relationship with each other, it makes it so much more worthwhile and fulfilling.
Secondly, Emily... yay Nana Visitor! I really liked seeing her doing something Sci-Fi again and thought she did a superb job and I'm not just saying that because she played my favorite Trek character :P It's too bad her character died, I think she would have made for an interesting supporting character.
Thirdly, Starbuck and the Harbringer of Doooooooom... Oh this was good. I really very much like Ander's unwavering faith (the title works for this episode in so many ways) in Starbuck the entire time. No matter how crazy she gets or what she does, he constantly stands behind her, even after all she's done to him. This speaks volumes about his character to me and I really do hope that she at least comes to some sort of appreciation for him and all he's done for her. And crazy!Anders shooting Gaeta was crazy!
Finding the Base Star (all your base star are belong to us hahaha) was cool, I'm glad that they are at least seeing now what Starbuck is going on about even if the hybrid says she's going to bring about doom and doom and more doom. Despite the warnings of said impending doom, I still think Starbuck has it right, she's the key. Now here enters back in my cracktastic theory from so long ago (
