I loved this! It was light, fun, a little cracky and just all around oh so amusing. Definitely a favorite. It actually reminded me quite a bit of Tooth and Claw (which is fine because it's one of my all time favorite eps as well) for several reasons. First off Donna's fake accent and the Doctor telling her not to was reminiscent of Rose attempting the bad Scottish accent. Also, when the Doctor sees the Wasp for the first time and stares at it with a bit of wonderment and says "brilliant" was similar to his "beautiful" reaction to the Werewolf. And it was just fun, I like the light-hearted, fun and happy Doctor that we had here, something we rarely see anymore. I demand more of it.
I also loved all the Agatha Christie stuff as well as the who-dun-it murder mystery (oh how I do love a good mystery, especially a murder mystery) complete with secretive dinner guests and finger pointing. I thought the Vicar to be the murderer mostly because he was the only one they really didn't go in-depth about what secrety secret he was hiding though I didn't guess him to be the Wasp. For awhile I also was suspicious of the old waiter guy who brought the Doctor the poisoned drink.
Speaking of the poisoned drink... omg the kitchen scene was absolutely one of the funniest things ever! I laughed so hard and have even replayed it a couple times just because it amuses me so much. So. Freakin'. Hilarious. *loved it*
Random things... I love how the Doctor just spontaneously shouts things like "MAIDEN!!" at Agatha Christie from the piece of paper discovered on the floor. And I just knew the Doctor was going to lick or taste that morphic residue hahaha. I liked the music from the Doctor's flashback from being in Belgium (with the bow and arrows that looked kind of like the ones he had in Blink) and I wonder just what he had been doing there with said bow and arrows. And I loved when they were going from person to person figuring out who the murderer was how Donna was eating the whole time and kept saying "so he/she killed them!" lol. I love the Doctor's enthusiasm throughout the whole thing "solving a murder mystery with Agatha Christie, brilliant!" heehe. And the trunk of goodies under the TARDIS grating, I wonder what else he has stashed down there lol
Reoccurring things... Really, I didn't spot any this time unless you want to count the Wasp and the previous mentions of disappearing bees. There were several references to past episodes but none stand out to me as something that could be telling of this season's elusive finale. I'd say this was just a fun, comical stand-alone and was very much welcome by me.
Next episode looks interesting though I know virtually nothing about it. And I'm not sure, but the ep won't be on next week due to some Eurovision show or something but the week after? *pouts* Though there's supposedly a trailer that airs during it that has everyone all up in a stir about. I'll be excited if it contains what everyone says it does ;D
