So, the Daedalus shows up abandoned in orbit of Atlantis and the team goes to investigate. They soon realize they aren't in the same place as before and they find that the ship has an alternate reality drive. They also find a version of themselves no longer alive on the ship. They jump to a reality where Atlantis is being attacked by some unknown alien and they use what little of the resources they have left to take out the weapons on the ship. The ship launches fighters which damage the Daedalus pretty heavily. Rodney rigs the AR drive to jump faster and they jump in orbit of a sun where they are now going to burn up. As if that wasn't bad enough, there were a couple stowaways from the alien ship, some sort of hell-borg beings with cool looking green-light weapons. Now, I thought they jumped realities again to escape the sun but maybe not because the alien ship is there again after they jump. Perhaps they followed them, sort of like riding the wave or something. Anyway, they're being attacked again and some alternate 302's with an alternate Sheppard in the lead show up and save the day. Sheppard compliments himself and they jump back to their reality. The ship is going to jump again and a hell-borg detonated an explosion in the hanger where their Jumper was so they went EV in space suits hanging about in space for Atlantis to come pick them up. That's pretty much it. Yeah. It was alright, not as good as I was expecting but not that bad. Too bad they didn't end up keeping the alternate reality drive, that could have been interesting.
But, gratuitous Star Wars reference FTW! Sheppard to Ronon: "Easy Chewie!" hehe and I still ♥ Rodney. The bit at the end where Rodney holds Torin and Teyla comments that he'd make a good father someday and Sheppard says that's the scariest thing he's heard was pretty amusing.
In two weeks: I wasn't really paying that close of attention to the preview but some lady shows up claiming she's Elizabeth Weir but it's not Torri Higginson. Something like the people of Atlantis become hosts to disembodied Replicators and their being led by the one claiming to be Weir. hmmpfft
And because Journey's End aired tonight on Sci-Fi and of course I watched it again, is it uber-cheese to admit that this episode still makes me cry even though I've seen it half a dozen plus times already? You know, as far as season finales go, this one really is one of the best ever I've seen. I just love this show. But I think that's pretty obvious ;)
