BSG: Deadlock
I don't really have a whole lot to say about this episode, it felt like a filler to me with little new information given. The Caprica/Tigh/Ellen love triangle was of little importance to me though I guess it would make sense to touch on it since Ellen has returned but the entire episode didn't need to be about it. I really disliked Ellen very much in it and here I thought she was going to come back awesome and stuff but she's pretty much just the same. I really felt bad for Caprica Six and especially for her losing the baby Liam. And Tigh's empty eye was ewww.
BSG: Someone to Watch Over Me
Now this episode was much better and I really liked the insight into Starbucks background. I had a feeling that the mysterious piano player was going to be in her head and I actually figured him to be her father (maybe Daniel? It does make sense after all) especially after their conversation where Starbuck talked about her father leaving them and all. I loved that the song she was trying to remember was All Along the Watchtower and that Hera was drawing the notes of it and that Tigh and some of the others heard it.
Ugh, Boomer!@# I knew she was up to something but she really orchestrated quite the plan the whole time. So, that was her goal/mission all along under the guise of helping Ellen, steal Hera and take or to Cavil or kill her. And really... Helo? Seriously, could he not tell that she wasn't Athena? I mean sure all the Cylon models are identical in appearance but that's about it, there would surely be other umm things that he'd be able to recognize whether or not it was his wife. I HATED that part. And poor Hera! I would have thought she'd have known it wasn't her mother and maybe would have thrown a fit or something but she went right along with her. And I also liked that we seen Laura's connection to Hera still, she knew something was wrong. I do like to think that what Boomer said to Tyrol in the hanger bay was true but that doesn't make up for the fact that she used him and everyone else to carry out her plan. Bah. So that means there are no other Cylon children anymore. Well, except that I think Starbuck is one and that no one is going to know/realize it until the end. She seems to be a central focus of so much and has been since the beginning and the more I think of it, all the stuff pointing to her as being something bad (Harbringer of Death and all that) I think are red herrings to throw us off from the fact that she's likely the most important person because she is grown proof of a human/Cylon union which is the ultimate goal for the salvation of both the humans and the Cylons.
This episode was good, it was actiony and interesting and I liked it despite those couple parts that annoyed me. Next week looks good too and there's only 3 episodes left! Meep! With only 3 episodes to go, I'm expecting them to be really packed full information and action and goodness. Whooo.
Preview for BSG - Islanded in a Stream of Stars
The title of this episode really intrigued me so I googled it and found this on the Battlestar Wiki:
The title comes from the book The Outermost House, by Henry Beston, where he chronicles his time spent living on an isolated beach in Cape Cod. In the chapter "Night on the Great Beach" he wrote, "For a moment of night we have a glimpse of ourselves and of our world islanded in its stream of stars— pilgrims of mortality, voyaging between horizons across eternal seas of space and time."
Interesting.
