Farewell Stargate Atlantis

First off, Vegas. I liked it because it was different but I couldn't help but think wtf!Atlantis all the way through it. It was a good episode and while I know it was connected to Enemy at the Gate, I wouldn't have put it as the second to last episode of the entire series.
Two random things about Vegas:
scruffy!Shep in a rumpled suit jacket in the desert = WOAH
I liked the reference to the Star Trek Experience hehe
Now for Enemy at the Gate. Frankly, I expected more out of the series finale but I rather enjoyed the episode. I wouldn't consider it series finale material, season finale maybe, mid-season two-parter certainly but not so much as a finale for the entire series. But I guess they plan to continue on with DVD movies like SG-1 so it's not like it's going to just be left there.
Random things about Enemy at the Gate:
It was really nice with Sam talking about renaming the Phoenix to the General Hammond, that was a lovely little tribute to Don.
I wonder what super secret mission the Odyssey was on that even Col. Caldwell wasn't supposed to know about.
And concerning the little title preview I guess you can call it for Stargate
As for Atlantis as a whole, I loved the first few seasons, not so much the later seasons but I stuck with it through to the end. It initially took me the first year to really warm up to the show but then I did and loved it and then it changed for what I believe was the worst. Feeling a sort of commitment to see it through to the end and my loyalty to the Stargate franchise as a whole kept me going through the episodes I didn't care for as well as enjoying several that I ended up quite liking. I may have not agreed with all the decisions made concerning the direction of the show but I'm still glad to have made the journey and will continue to watch whatever post-series stuff they do just as I will with SG-1. Indeed.
And to that I say to Atlantis: So Long And Thanks For All The Fish!
