Kireh Hawke, Mage.
So I've finished, my first play-through at least. I'm pleased enough with the outcome from the choices I made. Sided with the Mages, forgave Anders even after destroying the Chantry (wtf Anders, srsly!) and ran off with him in the end to complete the romance. I really enjoyed playing as a Mage and want to do another playthrough as a Mage to friendmance Fenris but my next play-through will likely be as a rogue. I'll still romance Fenris though. I also want to see the difference between siding with the Mages or Templars for the ending though I will find it difficult to want to side with the Templars. Even though finding out Orsino supported Quentin and turned into an Abzorbaloff royally ticked me off.
As for my Mage build, I went primal/force with a hint of spirit healing. I had Anders as my healer, Aveline as my main tank, and I switched out Varric and Isabella for dps. Varric sometimes fared better since he's ranged with Bianca but Isabella's comments were too funny for me not to want to have her along most the time. Especially in a party with Aveline: "Shut up, whore!" ROFL. Ander's didn't always heal to what I set his tactics at and he would often be the first to fall during really though fights so I sometimes would switch him out for Merrill as I had her specced as a true Blood Mage and she's pretty freakin' awesome, surprisingly. Even though I don't condone the use of blood magic, of course. But my main combination really worked well for me and we were pretty much unstoppable. I'll be interesting to see how things change for when I up the difficulty.
I also friendshiped everyone at 100% except Sebastian whom I got to late in the game and decided I didn't want to bother with. He stormed off vowing vengeance anyway after I refused to kill Anders. I also never got Carver to 100% because he annoyed me and I left him behind a lot until he ran off to join the Templars. Though he came back in the end and helped fight Meredith with me so that was cool. Man did she go evil craaaaaazy cakes. I didn't put two and two together about her and the idol until it was revealed but I enjoyed that surprise.
So yeah, I really enjoyed this game even though it frustrated me with some of the outcome, but I think it was just meant to be that way no matter what you choose. Damn you Bioware for making me care! If there's ever a DA3, I do hope it works in the manner of ME and you can import your DA2 character, that'd be awesome.
Now the question is... do I start my next play-through already or do I work on the ME & DA video capture project I've started? Decisions, decisions.
Spoilers within. You've been warned.
