stargater Dear Santa...Dear Santa, This year I've been busy! In October I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). Last Tuesday I pulled faithnsin's hair (-5 points). Last week I set jackwhore's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Friday I gave rithmah a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Overall, I've been nice (308 points). For Christmas I deserve a Nintendo Wii! Sincerely, |

Yeah, her death sucked - although I did like her little speech at the end at her own funeral :/ But that Armus thing was just stupid. I'll never get over Denise being lured away from TNG - it was a dumb move on her part *slaps Denise*
Rascals rocks everything too. It was inspired! (I'm also a massive Ro fan :D) I loved the Ro/Guinan friendship too. I'd slap Michelle for leaving Trek also - but at least Ro wasn't killed off - which was way more comforting than a death. Plus it allowed her to come back. :D :D

Date: 2006-12-06 06:26 pm (UTC)I liked Ro too and I really like how they are developing her character in the DS9 relaunch books. She is the station's Chief of Security now... and I won't say anymore if you haven't read any and you plan to. hehe
I do like when characters are able to come back in some way. I think the death that I disliked the most was that of Jadzia Dax. Maybe if it had happened in some glorious battle instead of her being sneaked up on by a Pah-Wraith possessed Dukat and killed for basically being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or that could just be a little Klingon in me talking lol :P

Jadzia was my equal fave on DS9 [Kira was the other] - so naturally she died (I have no luck with fave characters - I think I doom them [ except Faith in BtVS *touch wood*]. All my orginal faves took a dirtnap. I'm a jinx!)
My - you DO sounds quite the Klingon LOL! I think Jadzia being so into Klingon ways - and having married Worf, it would've been cooler for her to die in a proper battle rather than just in the wrong place at the wrong time *sigh* - but even though it did suck - I'd say it was still a 'better' death than Tasha's.

I think the writers of the relaunch books have done well with it. She's also developed a relationship with someone from the station that I find quite amusing. eehe but I shall not spoil you :D
awww all your favorites die! None of my absolute favorites from series have died though other favorites (Jadzia, Dr. Fraiser from SG-1 etc...) have died but I can say that I'm glad my most favorites are still around because that would be awful! I don't know how I would like it if that were to happen lol Lets just hope it never does lol. :P

This is the soul reason I'm elated Buffy ended with Faith in tact! Are the relaunch books canon at *all*? Can I say Ro still lived? ;p b/c I was under the impression she was meant to have died with the rest of the Maquis in DS9's big war arc.
I actually stopped watching Stargate when Janet died *mourns* Don't get me wrong, I loved Sam and Jack too - but I became a little annoyed with SG with the messing around they did with Michael Shanks - but - I digress :x
I don't know if 'lucky' is the word, but at least when Tasha died, I still had Data and Picard to like - then s3 I could like Beverly again (at least she didn't die! :D) And, the DS9 cast rocked so much that when Jadzia died there were still others to love, y'know? But yeah, Tasha, Jadzia, (thank goodness there were multiple Weyouns! ;p) Kes, Janet, Ana Lucia ....sometimes it sucks to watch TV LOL!

Date: 2006-12-07 05:45 pm (UTC)Basically the story picks up after WYLB... and with Ro, obviously she survived the war (along with a few others who they stuck together fighting the Dominion until the end of the war) and when it was over she returned to Bajor and given the rank of Lt in the Bajoran Militia. She was then assigned to DS9 to take Odo's place as Chief of Security.
Some of the books may be kinda hard to find and you'll probably have to get them from a used shop or something online. Though most the main ones I still see at bookstores now.
I'd start with the Avatar duology and go from there, unless you just really want to read the Garak and Dax books first but they aren't really essential. Definitely try to read them in order because near the last couple books where we were left off a lot is going on and it really helps to have all the back story. The next one doesn't come out until April 2007 and it seems like such a long long long long long wait lol.
And about SG-1, they thought the series was coming to an end that year so that's why they did the Janet episode and when it wasn't slated to be the end, they let it run because it really is a very good episode. Daniel on the other hand, he's like a cat and got too many lives he knows what to do with lol. I don't think he can be killed anymore! I wasn't happy with his "ascension" initially but if I were to pick someone from the main four for for it to have happened to, I would have picked Daniel so it wasn't that bad. And Jonas kinda grew on me after awhile lol. Like Vala has grown on me, she amuses me so. Though I miss my Jack! =D

Well Jack isn't gone gone, he's just doing the "head of homeworld security" thing and isn't a regular on the show now. He was in Atlantis's mid-season two parter though heheee =D
