"In 2007 we saw a huge number of new and former players re-joining the Star Wars Galaxies community, and we attribute that directly to the high-quality features and content we've added to the game over the past two years," said Tom Nichols, senior director of online for LucasArts. "We look forward to continuing our work with Sony Online Entertainment to deliver even more content next year, based directly on what players have requested: additional heroic encounters, space-based content, and profession enhancements."

No SOE, what you did was cheat and deceive your loyal veteran players. SOE won't release numbers for just how many subscribers they actually have, but I recently read an article stating they have less than 100,000 with only about 20,000 being active. Either way, it's all just a matter of time.

Read the rest of the article here if you're interested, but I wouldn't waste my time.

No, I'm not still a little bitter about the whole SWG affair, why do you ask? I want the last 5 minutes of my time back.

ROFL. I just read that article on TFN and thought the exact same thing. When they mentioned Lok, I thought of my Pet Sanctuary, abandoned in the desert.

Makes me sad.

lol, it's a looooong story :P In a nutshell, I'm still miffed about SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) ruining the game by dumbing it down so that every 7 year old can play with ease because they said it was too difficult and complex. And they sprung it on everyone with very little warning and right after people had paid for the next expansion at the time. It was deceiving and underhanded and they lost a lot of players because of the changes. Since then, they have brought back some of the things they took out but that doesn't make up for the way they acted & reacted (they pretty much said, we're doing the game how we want no matter what you want so get over it). I had never played their other big MMO Everquest, but I had heard horror stories from players who said SOE did something similar with it. Even if they brought SWG back the way it had been at it's beginning, I still wouldn't go back to playing it on principal. :P

One of the best pwned icons ever; I know I've seen it before but don't think I've ever said anything.

Gah. Boo to SOE then ;.; I'd LOVE to fall across a company that cared more about their product than $$$ just for once. *sigh*

Yay for you being principled! :D

Same here! Even though I don't go on about it nearly as much as I did while playing SWG, I really like the customer service I've received from Blizzard (World of Warcraft) they've always been real nice and helpful and I think they actually try to listen to what the players want.

That's cool :) I think EA (Sims) aren't too bad either. I've never needed customer support or anything, but the guys interact with the gaming community, are supportive of customizing the game and are happy to try give players what they want too :D

Oh yeah, actually same here with EA, I've never had any problems from their games, though I've never needed customer service either. yay for good game makers!
