As [livejournal.com profile] rithmah has informed me and the article at GateWorld I just read, Richard Dean Anderson is going to be at GateCon 2008!!! This is especially rare since he doesn't do conventions, he's sort of a private person but that's cool, I respect that. Still, I MUST be there you see, no matter what. I just know it's going to be expensive out the wahzoo :/ And I hope they don't limit tickets and stuff :/ But that shall not stop me! Must. Go. To. GateCon.

ZOOOMG!!@@^RDA!!111OMG!!@#!111

*sorry went a little fangirly again*

*faints ded*

Heheh. I love your icon. Hammond looks so silly.

I would love to meet RDA. He seems to be such an amazing person. I really would love to get there somehow someway. Maybe if I save up...

*squeezes George*

I think the same about RDA, he really does so many things that a lot of people don't know about. It'd definitely be a chance of the a lifetime to meet him since he really doesn't do that much public stuff.

He is a supporter of an incredible amount of causes. I am always very impressed. I would love to get an opportunity to meet him but now that he's signed on the ticket prices are going to soar through the roof and I certainly won't be able to afford it.

Oh, I know. I'm already cringing wondering how expensive they'll be. GateCon is already expensive in my opinion (not to mention the cost of traveling all the way there and all) so I'm sure it'll be twice as bad this time around. I think I remember reading that some of the $$$ is going to one of the charities he supports which is pretty cool.

From rdanderson.com (http://rdanderson.com/)

Next summer he will also be making an appearance at Gatecon 2008 in Vancouver, the details of which are still being finalized. Still a relative newcomer to conventions, he said, "I'm looking forward to it. I've never done it before." He welcomes the opportunity to raise money for Sea Shepherd and to meet with the fans, adding, "I've been spending a lot of the time away from television and show business to have more time with my daughter and to support other causes. I guess now's the time. I'm working for other things, and I appreciate all the people who have been so supportive all along."

:D

I'm so excited about it, it's really a great chance and something that probably won't happen all that often. whooo :D

I'd like to think he won't back out unless something big comes up. Though if for some reason I can't go and he backs out, then it's ok ;P That's so selfish isn't it? Nah, I wouldn't wish that anyway :P

*lols @ your icon again*

Nahh. Not selfish at all. Perfectly normal, in fact ;D

I wonder if there'll be many MacGyver questions. Man I loved that show! :D <33

Oh, I'm sure there will be! I loved that show too so much! I even attempted a few things Mac did, several failed attempts, which now that I look back on it was probably a good thing ;P

Heee. I never tried any of his gizmos tbh. Although I did get a kick out of all the people that said they tried to make dynamite out of a condom and a paper clip LOL!!

What did you try?

Several things with duct tape and wiring but I really don't remember much about them except failure ;P But one thing that was a success, when I went to take the driving test for my drivers license, the fuse must have blown on the headlights just before I went in because they weren't working (though they had that morning on the drive there) and they won't let you take the test if your car isn't perfect. But! A perfect MacGyver-ism sprung to mind: a gum wrapper (the kind that used to have a shiny side and a white side like in Wrigley's) wrapped around the fuse will make it work again. And it did just long enough to take and pass the test. I was rather proud. :D

I was a little skeptical that it was going to work but was pleasantly surprised ;D I also discovered a couple years later that if you wrap a bad spark plug with electrical tape, it'll work again until it melts through the tape. :P And those are the only two little nifty things I've ever gotten to work car wise, otherwise all I know how to do is turn it on and drive it :P

Another new icon (or one not see often) yay! :D

No, I've had this icon a while - I just never really get the chance to use it much lol!

True! But I feel very lucky that I went when I did. I got to meet everyone but RDA, and while I love him lots, I don't think I should think about doing another GC 'cause it was expensive!

Oh no kidding, it is expensive! I fully expect it to be twice if not three times as bad as a "normal" GC. I just hope it's not to far out there or I might not be able to go! :/
