stargater: (dw ten are you my mummy)

Oh, this was so good. I quite liked this episode and found it to be a good conclusion from last week. I also thought it was more interesting and entertaining than last week mostly because it was more suspenseful and so much funnier.

Let's see, where to begin... I guess the beginning is as good a place as any. yay for Gramps! Of course we all knew he'd get out of the car and lol @ Donna's mom for axing the window. Which again makes me wonder why the Doctor didn't do that in the first place (though he does tend to miss the obvious sometimes) and also if the whole car was deadlocked, the window shouldn't have been able to be broken like that thought right? Either way, Gramps was out and that's all that mattered. Speaking of Gramps, he'd have to be like the coolest granddad ever and I love his and Donna's relationship.

Donna's got a TARDIS key now! I thought that was pretty cool. I guess I also wouldn't have thought that the TARDIS could have just been teleported away like that unless clone!Martha did something so they'd be able to. And the Doctor so was onto clone!Martha, it was pretty obvious I'd think. I actually kind of felt bad for the clone in the end, it's not like she had a choice of what happened really.

The Rattigan kid, seriously could he have whined any more than he did? I didn't care for him last week to begin with but he really annoyed me with all his whining/stomping/crying fits though at least he owned up to it at the end.

And I quite like the Doctor's diplomacy ;P and turning the transmission to that cartoon for that bit was pretty funny. And I liked how the Doctor sent clues to Donna (reminiscent of The Age of Steel with Mickey) and how he trusted and believed in her to go out and do what was needed.

So the Sontarans wanted to use Earth as a cloning planet. If they were willing to all that trouble just to make more clones, guess their war with the Rutans isn't going so well. I also suppose that could be another reason why they didn't participate in the Time War.

lol @ Donna using the TARDIS mallet to conk out the Sontaran solder and the "you've got three fingers" bit which I couldn't help but think how Vulcan it looked. That's two of those references in DW so far heehe ;) I also LOL when the Doctor told her she was brilliant and she tells him to shut up. And I absolutely loved the "are you my mummy" line, I mean that was totally brilliant! I laughed so hard at that as well as the way the Doctor's hair was all sticking up from around the gas mask *loved it*

There were soooo many references to past episodes and things (and yay a mention of the Brigadier) it was really just chock full of 'em. I like it when they do that and especially when I know what/who they're talking about ;P

I don't know if I mentioned it last week but I liked the Sontaran ship, I thought it looked pretty cool. Also the effect of the atmosphere igniting was rather nifty. And bringing in the the Valiant to move the gas away was a pretty good idea. I also don't know if I've ever mentioned it but I like that before the Doctor makes one of those huge decisions (like blowing up the Sontaran's) he always wants to give them a choice though I do wonder if he really would have ever pushed the button (like Nine with the Daleks in TPoW) clearly the Sontaran's didn't think he would. And LOL @ Donna giving him a good whack afterward :P Also, what was up with the hand in the TARDIS? Why does he really need to keep that old hand around?

Alright, so I just knew (since as you know I'm convinced about Rose being a key theme) that there would be some sort of appearance (and I was spoiler free thank you) this week since there was nil last week. Blink and you could of missed it (so DON'T BLINK! haha get it, don't blink...) *ahem* anyways, she was right there on the TARDIS computer for a staticy second and it really looked (I may have slowed down the video just to confirm this) like she was saying 'Doctor' and of course no one saw it again, I'd think Donna might have made the connection if she had. So I'm wondering if she's aware of the tear (whether it be accidental or on purpose) between the two universes and is either trying to make contact or find a way back through or something. Damn them for leaving little teasing breadcrumbs all the while knowing we'll have to wait until the very end to find out what's going on.

Sooooo next week The Doctor's Daughter, I'll admit to being a bit apprehensive about it and I have been since I first learned of it. I don't know why really but I do hope they explain it well enough, like not leaving who she really is up to people's imagination and such. Even though I haven't watched any of the Hartnell episodes we all know the Doctor has a granddaughter named Susan who had also traveled with him and I wonder if they'll have any more mention of her with Jenny (I think that's supposed to be her name) in the upcoming episode. I actually kind of think they won't because I've always had this idea that she's actually some kind of clone (enough with the clones already though) or something where someone had gotten a hold of the Doctor's DNA and engineered her from it. I really don't know though I am quite curious. And if that is the case, does that make her a Time Lord? Or half/part Time Lord? Would the Doctor not have been able to tell that she existed if she was? I remember reading awhile back when the episode summaries were released that RTD said this episode would contain a big surprise though I don't remember seeing anything else on her returning for any other episodes so it could just be a one-shot. I think it's neat that the actress is actually Peter Davison's daughter and I'm sure they'll be plenty of amusing little jokes and things thrown in there. Anyways, it's fairly obvious that I haven't a clue about next weeks episode so I guess I'll stop speculating about it now :P

I just finished watching this ep, and I LOVED it. Everything about this one, was amazing, just like you said. I can't wait for next week 1) more speculation about The Doctor's daughter and 2) more Martha! I love Donna and I love Rose, but Martha is still my fave. And I did catch the tiny clip of Rose on the screen. I think she was saying "Doctor," too.

I actually think I liked it better than the first part which is usually pretty rare for me with tv episode sequels. Oh, I like Martha too (I never disliked her) but she'd be my third favorite behind Rose as first and Donna as second. :D

I enjoyed it more than the first part as well, and I also got more comfortable with the Sontarans.

I loved the TEC/TDD reference too ^_^

Yeah, I liked that Rose once again just popped up out of nowhere. I think she did to, although I can't really remember now thanks to not reading & commenting until now.

I liked the Sontarans but they aren't really among my favorite villains and all.

I so loved the "are you my mummy" line. I wonder if that was scripted or not, I didn't watch the Confidential for this particular episode to I don't know if it was mentioned or not.

She popped up on the TARDIS monitor for a split second just before the Doctor started sending clues Donna's way. I'm liking all these little references. hehe
