Bones: The Pain in the Heart

hmmpfh :/ Let me start off by saying that I may have, just a little, kind of, sort of fell for that opening teaser. At first I thought nah, this is just to trick us but then got the actual funeral part and (I was still a bit in disbelief tho) I had to pause it to look on the internet for what was really going on. I know I'm terrible. There's something to be said about being spoiler free and right now I really don't know what it is, but when it concerns the possible death of major/favorite characters I don't like to be surprised. Ever.

Brennan whacking that guy with the plastic arm was funny and she has one hell of a right hook hitting Booth like that. I also think Sweets' observation of it all was spot on though I agree that he did it mostly for experiment purposes which I didn't like. Also, the bathroom scene was pretty funny.

Because of a comment by rithmah who said "I hope it's not someone like Zach" (whom I never suspected beforehand) I was suspicious of him since the explosion when he insisted on doing it instead of Jack. Also when Jack finds the lead levels with his house right in the middle, I think he realized at that point that it probably was Zach and that's why he increased the pain killer dosage on him in the hospital.

Let me also say that I hated that it was Zach, it doesn't make sense to me for it to be him out of all of them really, how such a logical and analytical person could fall victim to the sort of beliefs that Gormogon was pushing. Also, that episode awhile back where we caught a glimpse of the apprentice after killing the lobbyist did not look like it could have been Zach but whatever. I don't like it and it kind of feels like they threw in this wrench purely for emotional reaction rather than plot development. I'll also admit to getting a little teary at the end, especially when they were going through the box of stuff.

Aside from the things I disliked about it, the episode was a good, suspenseful episode (the ending felt a bit rushed though) but I can't help but feel discontent with it.

So with you on that! I bet the repercussions of this ep will be worked through next season ... because there's no way that this isn't going do some damage to the squints especially Jack :(

Based on what I read the writers were planning on having this develop over several eps but because of the strike they had to really rework the story-line. And I agree it definitely felt rushed.

Oh yes definitely, I think they all will be dealing with this probably all throughout next season. It's not exactly something you shrug at and go on, I wonder if he'll make an cameos or anything, you know like if someone goes to visit him or something.

After I thought about it a few moments after my initial disappointment I figured it was probably due to the writers strike and having to force the story in a different direction. There were only 15 episodes this season, that's 6-8ish missing that they could have really worked with. I wonder who they had intended it to be before and what that story entailed.

I'll miss him too but I am glad it wasn't Jack because that would have really upset me even more :P

If it was going to be Jack I would have really been heart broken ... he's my fave character and his relationship with Angel makes me happy, really, really happy ;)

I'll definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for Zack cameos.

Jack and Angela's relationship is sweet and I like it and hope they don't mess with it. Just let there be one nice couple out there for crying out loud! :D

I really do like it when a show with a non-consumatable "main" relationship have the supporting characters engage in a relationship that just works! *sighs* I really, really hope the writers keep those two happy although I bet things next season are going to get tough for them since Zack's situation is going to seriously mess with Jack :(
