A blogthing that I snurched from somebody a few days ago but forgot to post:
I've always included favorite quotes/mannerisms etc... from movies/tv/books randomly into everyday conversations because really, it amuses me and it's fun. And I like to see if anyone gets the reference which I'm quite pleased about when they do. Of course it's no surprise that some DW things would have worked their way into it. So this really amused me, shamelessly stolen from the
doctorwho community:
You know you watch too much Doctor Who when...
- You shout random words and make people around you jump. (see Agatha when Ten shouts 'Maiden!')
** I totally do this now because I loved that scene so much. In fact, I just did it the other day at work, standing around having a normal conversation when I just shouted a repeated word. Everyone jumped and looked at me strangely but only for a second because they're used to random outbursts/actions from me already.
- You have an obsession with Jelly Babies.
- You say "that's too salty" when someone passes salt when you've asked for salt.
- You randomly add "Ha!" to conversations.
** This too, but I've been doing that for a long while.
- You love long scarves.
- You rave about the goodness of Bananas even though you can't stand eating them (that's me, I hate bananas but ramble on about potassium etc)
- Every decision you make is "it's this, or the Earth".
- You buy glasses that look exactly like Tens. "You don't need glasses, you just think they'll make you look smarter"
- You see an old phone box in a small town history museum, take a photo of it, but wish it were blue.
** There's this little trolly stop station where people can wait and be ferried across the highway and from above when you're traveling over it sort of does look like a TARDIS. About as close to something that looks like a TARDIS around here anyway. And yes, I wish it was blue.
- You imagine what your cat would look like as a Catperson.
- You say "we do not have the parts" when putting something together and missing a piece.
- Your Ipod playlist consists of songs/podcasts/audio books linked to Doctor Who.
- You've included the use of Allonsy, Molto Bene, Fantastic and Brilliant, into your everyday vocabulary. The Word Brilliant is always finished with you grinning like a maniac.
** I do say 'fantastic' often and tend to type out 'brilliant' when describing things. I so want to use 'allons-y' hehe
- You've read about a moment from history and thought "I bet The Doctor's responsible for that".
- You pop your p's.
- You shout "Exterminate!" while running around the house with fly spray.
** I say lots of things in the way of ex-ter-min-ate in a Dalek-y voice. Come on, it's too much fun not to.
- Your answers begin with an exaggerated 'Well-'.
- Everytime someone asks you a technical question you simply respond with: just reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.
- You ramble on about things that are right in front of you. (Time Crash)
- You wear an ornamental vegetable on your jacket.

The Road Trip of Your Life |
![]() You see companionship and loyalty as what's most important in life. You often find yourself rushing through life. You don't take as much time as you'd like to enjoy the little things. You don't like a lot of risk or randomness in your life. You prefer to stick with what's known, even if it's a bit boring. You tend to be a workaholic. You overwork yourself without ever realizing it and sometimes suffer the consequences later. In another life, you could have been a great novelist. You have a knack for describing things in an interesting way. |

re: Who Language
Date: 2008-07-11 02:23 pm (UTC)My boss down in the city is obsessed with the show thanks to me, lol, and we trade DW lines in the office. We're insane. When our computer network slows down, she'll say in a low voice, "it has been...exTERMinated!"
My dog, Maggie, now responds when I say, "Maggie, allons-y," because she knows we're going outside. I'm not kidding. It's scary.
My sister asked me a few days ago to help her use her new external hard drive, and I said, "well...it goes ding when there's stuff."
Hugs, jackie

You see companionship and loyalty as what's most important in life.
You live a life of leisure. You take your time in every aspect of life and enjoy it to the fullest.
You are all about risk and randomness in your life. You travel off the beaten path... in fact, you're often the one carving the way!
You are able to find a fairly healthy balance between work and play. You work when you need to, but you never let yourself burn out.
In another life, you could have been a great artist. You trust your creative instincts enough to let them lead you.
Hee. For once our outcomes are slightly different :P I see you are the typical 'work 'til you drop' American attitude where I am the typical 'will take it easy' Aussie attitude ;p
I obviously don't watch DW so I can't really relate to any of that :x I do *always* laugh at your Dalek impressions though b/c they're SO FUNNY! ^.^

Date: 2008-07-12 12:43 am (UTC)It's much fun 'ex-ter-min-ating' things hehe. Sometimes I'll be out and see something that fits and think it in my head but then realize I actually said it out loud. lol
