BSG: Blood on the Scales

Wow. That was intense! Not quite as much as The Oath but still very good. The end left me with a few questions though. I haven't exactly formed complete thoughts on the episode yet so I'm just going to list my somewhat disjointed thoughts down quickly. I think I need to see it again.

- The Quorum, sheesh. I actually thought to myself just before the slaughter of them all "Gee, what's Zarek going to do off the whole quorum? lol" And well then he did, whoops.

- I loved Adama's steely determination. And the others joining and following him along the way marching down the corridors to take back the CIC was one of my absolute favorite parts of this season. I loved that.

- I also love how Roslin stuck to her guns even when she was told Bill had been executed. I liked her transmissions to the fleet and her fury at Zarek - she was full of fire and I think could have done just about done anything right then.

- I loved Bill & Laura's reunion scene, it was touching and emotional. It's interesting about these two because while I've always liked them together, I think there's been a big shift, a growth if you will, in both their characters since they've admitted their feelings for each other. I say it's interesting because it obviously makes them stronger together and I like seeing that development without unnecessary angst.

- Poor Anders! Please don't die Sam! I really liked Kara's concern and her staying behind to take care of him.

- The engine room was interesting, I cheered aloud when Tyrol disabled the FTL drive. Buuuut what were the mysterious cracks/marks on the wall? Were they the same that were in Bill's quarters?

- LOL @ Lee's grenade

- Did Hera have a sudden growth spurt and no one noticed?

- What exactly is up with Gaeta!grossleg's itchy nub? Was it important for another reason that it had stopped itching right before he was executed? I wonder if it was because of guilt, it seemed to get worse as he was plotting his uprising.

And was his conversation with Baltar real? For some reason I got the idea of it being head!Baltar or something he was waiting for the execution. I'm also confused about the bit 'people knowing who he was' and all that. I actually thought for a second that maybe he orchestrated the entire coup just so the fleet would come together with Adama and the rebel Cylons but that doesn't make sense because I he truly did hate the Cylons and probably also truly believed that what he was doing was right. Maybe it was concerning the events from the last webisodes. I dunno but I'm not exactly sad or to see him gone, he seriously annoyed me the last couple episodes. And Zarek too, I'm glad he's gone though he made a good baddie. But I was also surprised that they were being executed, even though I'm alright with both characters being gone, I'm not sure how I felt about it happening that way.

- It's interesting because I find myself really rooting for the rebel Cylons now and I want them to come together with the humans and I think eventually that's what is going to have to happen. I can't help but wonder again about the whole 'this has happened before and will happen again' and think maybe because this very same thing has happened before, maybe that's how these other human Cylon models came to be - the 13th colony.

Next week: No Exit
- The return of Ellen! I think this Ellen will be a very different Ellen than we were used to and I'm very curious about her knowing 'the whole truth'. I wonder where she resurrects at though, I'm betting it's on Cavil's ship.

AMG! Ellen! Is it me or does she seem a bit... ominous??

And if she dies and can resurrect, couldn't Sam as well if he ends up dying? Poor Sam. :(

Crazy ep - I just finished watching - but the ending was a little sad. Still, I'm glad Adama is back in command and things can proceed... yes....

Yeah, I thought the same which is why it think she's going to be very different from the Ellen we know.

I thought she died before the resurrection ship was destroyed? Which is why I think she's probably on Cavil's ship. Maybe she was boxed after her resurrection which might explain D'Anna's reaction to seeing her in the temple when she saw the Five. And now she's waking up or being woken up.

Yeah, like I said above - I'm fine with those two characters being gone really but I don't know how I feel about how it happened in the end. I'm glad Adama's back in command though very much.

I did a double take when he told the guys to shoot them. :p

I almost got teary eyed when Roslin was threatening Zarek; I did a tad, but not full on.

Yeah I liked that too.

Hehe yeah me too. Were the cracks in the ep I had to skip or am I just forgetting?

I like the poeticness of it stopping just before he died. I think you could be right. Hmm not real, idk. I couldn't help it, I felt a little bad at the end with Gaeta. I wasn't surprised they were shot; I think it was fine.

hmm, very possible.

Figure'd she'd have to come back some how.

It was good though I think it could have been extended out again so it wasn't so jam packed but yeah definitely a great episode :)

hehe yeah the grenade made me lol :P

I still don't know how I feel about the end of it completely but I'm okay with them being gone if that makes sense lol.

I think the next couple eps will certainly be interesting.

I think it all could have been extended really. Maybe stretched out over another episode so it'd be a set of three total. But it was also fine the way it was.

Yeah, both eps stretched out might of been better. I was fine with it though yeah.

NW Preview - That is MOST excellent. You really get the sense we're heading for a killer series ending.

As for the latest ep - Again with the kick ass, but i was dissapointed that a) the mutiny/coup was dissolved so quickly and b) that there seemed to be no repercussions about wiping out the Korum (sp??).
And maybe it was revealed in the webisides (which i've not yet completed watching) but Gaiter's motives just didn't seem to fit for me. The complete dispassion for what he was doing and why and *how*. Now Zerek - I get him. He's just a hard nosed bastard, and we love him for it.

Oh, I'm hosting him (Richard Hatch) at Supanova next month - anything you want to ask him..? ;)

Oh, yes indeed. I bet this series finale is going to blow us all away. That probably sounds like high hopes for it but I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Yeah, I really wondered about the Quorum and will be curious to see if something comes of it in the next episode or two. Surely something will have to be mentioned, I mean they were all just ruthlessly murdered. I still can't help but think there was something else going on with Gaeta too and like you said Zarek, yeah he is just that lol.

Oh cool re: Richard Hatch. Someone should ask him which character he liked playing better Apollo in the originals or Zarek now. He's got to have had a blast playing such a sneaky hard-nosed character like Zarek hehe :P
