So, it appears to be true... Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas is actually closing and apparently will do so in September. Here's the original article about it.

I suppose it's not all that surprising but it's still sad because I thought it was a wonderful attraction. A definite must for any Trek fan. I'm so glad rithmah and I got to go when we did. It was so much fun, I loved looking at all the props and the walking time-line. The giddy excitement that I tried to contain while walking along the shops on the DS9 promenade, eating in Quarks (and falling out of the booth, that was so embarrassing) and in the Klingon Encounter ride standing on the bridge of the Enterprise-D then hurrying along to the shuttle to "escape" the Klingons. Then being poked in the back by the Borg nanoprobes and being sprayed in the face with the little squirts of water in the Borg Invasion 4-D ride. I'm still hoping they'll find a new home for it maybe add some new stuff and make it even better. That'd be grand.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! So sad!! I guess I will be booking a last-minute holiday to Las Vegas in August. Life just won't be worth living if I never see Star Trek: The Experience. Thanks for the warning!

:( Well, there goes my one and only reason for going to Vegas. Blah. It looked so fun too! I'm hopeful though. Perhaps they can find a new venue and make it even spiffier ^.^

I need to know HOW you fell out of a booth LOL!! I'd love to eat at Quarks btw. I hope they do re-open somewhere else so I can get a chance. Getting squirted in the face by the Borg sounds interesting. Something similar happened in the Stitch ride at Disney. Sadly, however, my over-riding memory of THAT ride is the chili dog burp he lets rip. THAT WAS DISGUSTING. x_x I won't go on that 'ride' again. blah. I hope the Borg didn't burp on you ;p

Heh, maybe they will bring it down to Branson. That'd be a big draw, I bet, though I think you'd have to compete with the rest of the... erm... Star Trek fans in the area who you know would compete. Can you say former Springfield Fan Force? *shudder*

But yeah, it was nice to go the Experience when we did. And I almost forgot that you fell out of the booth! Thanks for reminding me. :D
